Thursday, February 26, 2009Finale overture, Lestat and ILestat had said he would meet me here tonight. It had been so long since we had seen each other! The Bratprince had held a concert with an alias name on his tour. When I saw the poster I knew it had to be Lestat. Those bright intelligent eyes and charismatic smile were unmistakeable. I had changed and flown into his room. It had been just before dawn, so the vampire was asleep. He opened his eyes. I preened myself. He had not seemed to notice. I left a note with the hotel staff to tell him I wanted to meet. "Hello! Ma cherie, you look so mature." His smooth voice said. I did not jump, my hearing had acutely sensed it now. I grinned. "Hi, thank you. I thought you already forgot me." "No I have a good memory, Krystal. Papiion." My smile was broad. The wind played with our hair. He ordered me a meal saying he would pay. "Lestat, I knew it was you. Finally you're performing again with the piano." "How did you find it? Hope I could entertain," Lestat said. He grinned, exposing his little canines just a bit. We caught up. Louis was visiting some old friends but he would send me a postcard. I had not heard from the shy immortal. Sometimes I checked my email when I had time. I told him of my dreams, but I would like to be friends always. My unstable childhood would not have sufficed without the two vampires' company. "Oh, Armand asked me to pass you this," I said, pulling out a velvet book. The blond preter thanked me. He kept the book in his coat. I asked him for his phone number. "I couldn't get through, you didn't open email again?" Those times I had taught him so much and Lestat had forgotten? Man! Bratprince chuckled impishly. "I forgot the password. Here is mine, sorry. I moved my lair as well." An address in Bourbon street. Oh he had stayed there in the past lifetime. "Ah yes, I figured Louis should find me there. Much easier to. Will you come?" Vampire invitation. Lestat watched me but without lust or possessiveness. He had changed now, almost 3 centuries old... if I didn't forget. Quietly, he said it's all right. Don't hurry to answer. Now the concert is done, I may wander there. My favorite hangout you know. I nodded. I wrote down my contact stuff on a notebook my friend carried. "Thank you! I'm so happy tonight. I hope you won't be too lonely. Sometimes I am." Lestat nodded. His violet eyes shone. "It will be often, cherie. But you will always have a friend in Louis and I. Armand calls you? I read that." He sulked a little. The boyish angel had called me. Haha but only recently. He wanted to see the art in my college. I finished my meal. How I wished the night would stay forever. "Krystal, you won't forget me? Mortals are wont to do that. They love only for a while..." he asked vulnerable again for that moment. I opened my mouth to deny that, but decided not to. Instead I took his hand. I will try not to have amnesia. Besides i am a shapeshifter. Still mortal. Don't be ridiculous. We spent the night stargazing, enjoying the waterfront scenery. "How is Rowan Mayfair?" I wanted to know. We had fixed them up together. One of my many tricks. "She is good. But we cannot be together. She has decided not to join us after all. And I am quite happy for her decision." His voice was laced with loneliness. How could soulmates not be together? But Quinn and Mona still contacted Bratprince. They had controlled their powers more now, and their combined wealth helped needy children. Under anonymous names too. Quinn always chatted with me. That was one ravishing guy I had a crush on! My tribute to vampires. They are so full of passion, that we should not be prejudiced against them. |
