Monday, December 25, 2006Chapter 41 My Cousin RonEveryone seemed okay when they woke up the following evening. Louis was up already at 5.30 singing. He was dusting the cabinets. I spied the active guy in his room, finding clothes to wear. Bianca! God, Should I or shouldn’t I buy the roses? Buy them! They say all. --------- I replied. Don’t tell cher I’m afraid of him! Hey! Promise me. Yea yea. Solemn promise. Hurry. Prince flew by me, touched my head and whisked out the door. I turned on the radio. “Louis did you know Stat Loves you a lot. He’s so eager to be friends. Sometimes you nag us about the expenses. He knows, but wants to make you cheer!” I chatted. The dark haired man wiped sweat off his brow and jumped to the floor. “Huh? He went off again. We haven’t spoken.” I spilled the beans. Princie, my apologias. WHAT? He yelled so loudly I was almost deafened. --------You told him! I will Kill you. Just wait. naughty childe! His telepathy when screamed is not amusing. Not for a bird. I didn’t. I got him prep for your homecoming. Don’t be mad. Did you buy the roses? Blondie walked in at this moment, windswept and the picture of an angel with his head up there. Smug, slight frown. I waved. “I was going to buy roses. But they’re expensive now. Not exceeding the monthly budget. Err.” “Tomorrow? I miss flowers in the house,” Louis spoke carefully. He chanced a look. Lestat had his hands behind his back and whistled. “I got some other kinds.” Shyly, Stat revealed the bunch and smiled. I pulled him nearer so he wouldn’t address the furniture. They were daisies and poppies. “Tu est beau,” Louis exclaimed. “Huh me? Listen that night I was…. Don’t remember it.” “Lestat. I forgive you. Next time you want to see a play, ask me," then Lo added, "Feel free to. Bianca.” I dangled my shell necklace. "He got this for All of us! Cute right?" Stat fingered them and thought about this. He nodded. “GREAT! I smell food. Louis me hungry. Quick, I want shepherd’s pie.” Lestat picked me up. I screamed. Happy ending! *************** On Friday when we were just chilling out and Lestat was bored stiff literally! He wanted some stimulation. My senses picked up a presence. Ronnie? The spaniel bounced on sensei chan when he opened the door to look at the garden. He is a springer spaniel, with the black eye patches. The dog stood up on his hind legs. Stat laughed, sweeping back his fringe. He fondled Ron eagerly and talked doggie to him. Smiled without his fangs. He wants to be sociable, he will do without the teeth factor, que de crocs. I introduced them both. Hi er.. monsieur, monsieur… Ron stammered. Remember we shapers will speak mentally because we cannot talk humanly. “De Lioncourt. But just call me Lestat. Want a bite?” he supplied, still amused and scratching my cousin about the long fluffy ears. Ron barked and wagged his tail. Then he jumped me onto the couch and I avoided his licks. I don’t like licking saliva. Eugh! Eugh, get away from me. Lestat waited. Ron smacked his chops. Yea,haha. Can I have Fizzy orange? “Make yourself at home. In a sec.” While glasses were clinked together in the kitchen, Ron wiggled in my lap. Oi oi oi, go away. Keep to the floor. Get offa me! I hollered and whacked his ass. The vampire had changed into Levi’s jeans and a V neck Tshirt when he returned with the drink. He’d made me hot milo. I shoved my cuz off and took the mug. Want me to pour it into a bowl for you? Ok, my cousin agreed, nodding like a man. I wanted to hit him and at the same time hide inside a hole. He was so Embarrassing! Lestat, this is Not him. I moaned inwardly.Made the blond overjoyed that he had a fit of laughter. He wept blood tears. Ronnie wagged furiously, Sending----- Haha, my name is Theris in this form, what do you think, monsieur? “What does it mean? Theris. Greek, or roman?” my teacher mused. I snapped,“If he sucks tell him that!” “Don’t you love each other, cheriepie?” “Non,” I snorted and glared at my cousin. “I told you our concept of love is different from yours. (he meant sex love)” “Children. I could not possibly imply it. Ron, come come,” Stat summoned him, waving him over. The spaniel gave me a rueful look. “Haven’t answered me.” “He is named after one of the minor gods.” I Sent--- don’t make Stat fall for you. he is Very easily attached. Ronnie quickly became 29 years old, going on 30 now. He pulled on a shirt and gazed at sensei chan with puppy eyes. “You like music… I have forte in violin and karate.” Stupid SHOWOFF! I went upstairs. But could hear them perfectly. “I’m crazy about the stage! I used to play violin. Which pieces do you love, Theris? I am gushing over your beau name!” I covered my ears and switched on Evanescence whose voice can drown out anything. Ronnie made me grateful but why didn’t he stop being in the spotlight? Lestat has since discussed everything with my cousin most of the time, since I was not That into classical music. Latest release of whoever’s album, they would go. I felt happy for him, Ron is a bubble of laughs. ******** I have a fetish for shoes. I think it was Christmas eve and I took Louis out shopping. How can he wear the same thing all the time? Red puma shoes, dazzling gold with red laces. Doesn’t it appeal? Louis said he was not gonna wear that. "No it’s for me," I replied. I asked for a small pair. "Why, don’t you want to wear them? I have a larger size." the salesman told me. I want these. So cute right? Baby shoes------ Louis asked, pursing his lips. I giggled. Hey you serious? “Thanks for the service Sir. Goodnight.” I have a whole collection of sweet small shoes, from high heels to sneakers. I don’t wear those which are too fanciful. Brat prince stumbled in, yelled, “Where are my poetry? Oh no, love those baby shoes. Can I look here?” “Sure c’mon in.” I took out a brown box and revealed little boots. They have silver buckles on them and are furry on the ankle part. “Someone bought this for me. Everyone of them in their boxes guys. Hey Lo. Seen Stat’s poems?” The blond was cursing to himself, in latin I think. With the te and all the literal pronouns. I can’t get him to accidentally teach me French curses though. I’m not supposed to say mon dieu(Oh God), too young to say that.Sigh. He gave up and squatted beside me. Indicated them. “Cannot go on mine. There’re some wearable right?” “I’ve asked her not to order these kinds. Take out some pink ones. I saw them somewhere…”Louis said dismayed in expression. We laughed. I told them I have army costume. Green combat gear. Lestat sniffed. “I like you in a top and skirt. Ok for guys. Military wear, please!” he groaned dramatically posing. Later on I combed out and plaited Louis’hair. He was horrified. “AAAH. Need to untie, ouch! Look like a girl.” I hugged the other guy from behind. He tried to pry me off, but not roughly. “Cherie, stop. Whatis it?” “I feel like washing someone’s hair. Allow me to. New shampoo, good for curls.” Lestat looked at me wryly and held my hand. I gazed into the endless immortal orbs. Sometimes you can be lost in their depths. I blinked and bounced to shake off the sleepy feeling. He turned back to completing his new diary, a leatherbound book. “So you are saying I cannot wash my own hair?” “I wanna bathe with you. oops.” Louis grabbed me at that and I changed, rushing for cover. “You insolent child! Vulgar. Naughty. Watched porn is it?” I screeched. The vamps covered their ears. “Stat shoot her down.” They ganged up on me. But I never get hurt. It is fun! takes the rhythm of regularity off. More next time. Monday, December 11, 2006chapter 40 Bien n'cest pas?The two of them were driven crazy by my horrible sentence structuring. I kept exclaiming bien bien to everything, every remark. Bien means good and sounds like bun. They were like ‘are you mad? Then if I ask you to do something impossible, it is bien? Arrgh,’ Louis complained. In the living room, while searching for a French storybook to illustrate some structure to sentences, we were talking about the cold-heartedness of some individuals. I was angry that some people didn’t allow themselves to be persuaded. We can agree on that one, all right. Stat nodded to show he was listening. “So honey, your parents are both hard? Mine too. It took a real time for me to break out of it. But I feel that your parents love you both Very much.” Lestat’s eyes were slitted, with a clever look. Many people idolize him because he may not be educated, but he Looks the part. His voice was slurred with his love. I sighed. “Why is it that older people become so hardhearted and adamant? I mean, it is all right for me to come back later. Or not do some homework. And failing maths. Can’t I just relax? I’m young.” He looked up at the ‘older people’ portion. Slight turndown of his lips. “Yes. I think We definitely should change our thinking. But I admit… sometimes I have to set a limit. We don’t want danger to you.” I bounced. “Yea! But there is no danger in going home a little later. Seriously! Is there?” I was pissed that Stat was siding with my folks. He does it occasionally and teens do feel hurt when people take the opposition side. I’m sure all of you have ever felt like that? When the adults get ganged up! I felt like crying. He pulled me close and tickled me. I sulked. “Kiddo, I wouldn’t. I’d face fire and hell to block you.” I gave him the breakdown of the story. Not everybody listens to me! When my father came back, I had a shouting match with him. How irritating he was. He would move my things without my permission. Then start lecturing about how his right as an authority (which made me question) lorded it over. He also could make me do some stuff if I didn’t want to. I couldn’t talk back, but he Controlled my will. I knew it was rebellion speaking but whoever made the rules was just asking for it. Everybody questions, how can you not allow people to speak out? I thought it was due to my father’s stupid upbringing and not letting people speak up that obstructed the way. Mona’s house was the other way round, the men wouldn’t talk but the women had a helluva lot to say. I would not admit I was wrong. It makes no sense to me that I have to be submissive when I’m not in the wrong. “All right, we will listen to you. Don’t be sad anymore. Here.” Fingers brushed my cheeks. He smiled sympathetically. I sniffled and laid my head on his shoulder. Rebelling has a price. Why can’t I fight for my rights without crying? Prince Stat. did you cry when you Wanted to take action but you couldn’t? My parents act like they haven’t. Those counsellors say they’ll know how we feel. But I am on the other end of the world when we fight. Bien sur, of course I did. I felt so much like you. No they don’t understand. It must be so long ago they were children. What made it nice inside and consoling was Lestat did not rush me into a solution. He added-------You asked me how to say ‘I don’t understand’. Je ne comprends pas. I repeated to myself. “I think it is so lovely to talk in this foreign tongue since you were born. If only I could be your sis or cousin!” I dreamt. Lestat was arrested by a laughing fit, the famous Lioncourt one. Armand and David grumble a lot when they experience this. I guess coz they ne comprends pas him. “Um, what is funny?” “The… the possibilites! Ooh lala! (gasp) Comique.” Lestat wiped his blood tears away. He continued giggling. I ignored him. Now when I look back, I could have jumped out of perspective. But I’m not gonna settle down. I don’t want a man to think he can possess me entirely. Quinn is understanding most of the time. He won’t jump and criticize me. I have few cousins and aunts who are this patient. Most of them have the mindset of rebelling. ********** At eleven Brat style fumez. “I don’t understand him! He never cares about how I feel. So how do I stand a chance? I might as well look for you to be my precious companion!” I was flattered (oh shit, I will be in trouble if you bite me) but I needed to know the root of the problem. “Louis had said he couldn’t wait to be back to spend alone time with you. I was having a sleepover, that day, right?” “Yep.” “Um. Louis was back so early. Didn’t you chat?” The blond looked tearful. “Non, I was all alone. I was trying to find someone to accompany me to go for this play. When I came back, Louis was moping in the room. I rushed in excitedly giving him an overview of the play. He broke my heart. ‘Go away. Don’t disturb me’ and just Banged the door. I felt so unpopular that day. I don’t kill anymore.” And he went on and on about his sad vampire tragedies, wish he could be human but he could not and how much he could not do. “I’ll go with you,” I offered “That was mean of him.” “Cherie it won’t show anymore. That was IT.” I thought for a bit. He started playing with his hair, blowing the tufts off his eyes and curling one coil, till it sprang. He also edged closer and closer to me. “Have you talked?” I suggested. “How could I feel like talking if he just slammed the door! Hey if you’ve homework, go and do it. Thanks for listening to my rejection-sucks speech.” The blond was trying to be brave. I knew how it felt to be left out and excluded. Think about buddies purposely discussing some private pool to have but you’re not in it! Countless times being omitted. People make it that if you say it, you actually dare to request! I told him I would definitely include him next time. We continued counting surveys. “Mine is 104. Yours?” Lestat asked. I grinned. “Wow efficient. Yay, it’s correct. Merci!” He reached over but I ducked. His telepathic voice came on sound, What is the matter? I shivered------- I just don’t want to be hugged, right now. “Next time, can you tell me? When I touch you,” he whispered meekly, one finger extended. I told him this etiquette was on page 207! He read it with childlike wonder. “Ooooh. Wow. I didn’t see that. Why don’t you tell me first?” I narrowed my eyes. “Yea? You should know. We’ve been in the same house together for 4 years now!” He scoffed, nose up. “You automatically Assume we understand. It is not polite to probe your mind to know all the cues. Otherwise, I often use that to gauge the proximity of people to people. Your rights on privacy are important. Aren’t they?” Got me there. But I didn’t have to win an argument! If you let a man win, no grudges. “Sorry. I’ll tell you next time. Now I’ve done one of the list. Yay.” I had crossed it off. After some blissful silence when I was writing my report on my findings of the survey, he whistled. “Shall I make you that flat piece of bread? Dunno how to call it… I just saw the whole pack in the fridge. It’s almost due.” “Hmm?” What bread? “Oh yes, roti prata. Sure. I wanna eat that, thanks.” He went off whistling to himself, his bright aura bouncing off the walls. Although it was night, the daylight shone through. I smiled and shook my head. Who is the adult? But don’t let any of them hear that. The house was totally silent. I bet if you look in from the outside, you will think this place was haunted. It is in my aim to convince you not to fear vampires. They are still flesh and blood. If you see the dematerialized beings, that is horrifying! “Hey do you want my help? Don’t neglect your health. I’m free tonight.” I jumped. Oh goodie I needed this snakeskin for a biology experiment. I articulated it. The handsome preter closed his eyes, scanning. Then he snapped his fingers. “Yep. Got a good friend with petsnakes. No prob.” He dialed the telephone. Negotiations successful. When I could no longer tolerate his company, whining and clinging, I yelled out HELP! COME TO THIS ADDIE PEOPLE. SERVE HIS HIGHNESS! --------CUT Fangs out, Brat demanded, “HAhah. What’re you doing?” His hair seemed to stand on end. I sulked. “Hey. I can’t spend time with you. I thought you need the company right?” He looked very touched. But he just shook his head----- Non.if you don’t want me, I’ll vanish. “Where to, Stat? don’t run away from home! Go look for your kind!”I hollered. I’m not running away. Okay, okay. What do you take me for? His signal was blue, but not the rash blue. I relaxed and went back to work. I picked up my phone and dialed his room number. Ringing for a while. “Yes?” bored and antisocial tone. “”What are you up to? My cousin and his fam are gonna have a BBQ. It’s a party… you can meet more new people. Want to go?” I rushed, fingers crossed at my attempt to make him happy. A long pause and breathing. Princie smiled, I caught his image in a flash, legs crossed, combing his hair, green pajamas. “Cherie you’re weird. You can come to my room directly. Like this method of communicating?” “Uh huh. Can you come?” “But I don’t know them. I am--- different. Besides I cannot eat and it may be rude.” “I’ll introduce everybody. They’re very sociable and would love you like one of us. Aunt Geraldine is hospitable, Lestat. My cousee’s a spaniel. He’s 29 years old but behaves like a pup.” My friend laughed. Then he sounded like choking when he came back online, “My heart aches. They won’t… want to see me break down. Unless I tell them I cry red blood.” I frowned. Why would he cry red blood? Too happy? “Hey. Don’t be so sad. Um, I still have more homework. Read your book.” Stat did not speak for a while. Total quiet. He had put down the phone. I hung up and went on doing the stupid derivation and integration. Seriously I was going nuts doing integration. The blond did not give me his reply for the night. I Wanted him to cheer up, if Louis was going to be mean, he’d do good to get out of this house. At eleven, Louis came in via the kitchen. Pissed mood. I waited a while. “Hey man. What’s up?” Test the fire. Sullenly, the quiet guy took out the trash. Then he returned and glanced at me. “Drank a criminal. (stalking a fat stranger in the alley) How was school? Working out?” I told him briefly. Ask ask ask. “Repertoire? Ask who?” DuLac said in his absent tone. I sighed. “Lestat. He was so hurt. You slammed the door.” I searched the passive face for emotion, remembrance. Louis washed his hands and touched his fringe. “The night of the play. I was outside.” “Um.” No sound except the washing water. I stood on the table and waited. “What did he tell you?” “That. No one wanted to go, so he was hoping…. C’mon, kiss and makeup.” Louis turned slowly. His green eyes were dark. “Get down. Observe..” He concentrated and lifted off the ground. I clapped. Yes he can hover! We sat down in the living room. Louis glanced at my half done homework. “Go to bed early. Where is he? Went out?” “No.” I glanced at the half open door with light spilling. Brat must be crying. I concentrated on tracking him. Princie had a book open and was flipping through another one to search for something. Feeling my Sense, he glanced up, wide eyed. Hello. Louis home eh? Am I welcome? I smiled and beckoned my companion to come up. Louis shook his head. “Bianca, thanks. You are very kind. It is not necessary. I have a gift.” He slipped on the necklace over my head. It was a short chain with stars. The other packaging was unwrapped. “Yay! I love such trinkets. It comes in a set.” He laughed and kissed my cheek. “Thought you won’t buy any. Wow, two more.” One was blue, had green trinkets dangling, the other one was red. He meant for us to wear them together. “I know the play was the last one. But I didn’t feel like crowding with others. Lestat’s so social. Except now. ….don’t want to disturb him. He has a temper.” |
